MQN REGIONAL MEETINGS - BOARD MEETINGS, ETC.
2010 MQN Board of Directors Meeting Dates April 17 - 9:30AM at the Days Inn in Grayling, MI July 17 - 9:30AM at the Days Inn in Grayling, MI October 15 and 16 - Days Inn in Grayling.
Region One Region One is re-organizing after a year without a Chair and Vice Chair. We invite your input on Region Meetings, meeting locations and meeting programs or to volunteer your time to help with these things. You may contact your Region One Board members, Bettina Graber - Munising, Alice Johnson - Marquette or Cynthia Yackel - Marquette with your ideas, suggestions or to volunteer. All MQN members from Region One are welcome. Region Two April 10 - Woodland Sanctuary in Mio. A day of demonstrations and Show and Tell. May 15 - Tour the Alcona County Quilt Trail and Shop Hop in the Harrisville, Oscoda and surrounding areas. July 9 - 10 - Charity Sew at the Days Inn in Grayling. We will be constructing quilts using 2 ½" strips and working on small projects for breast cancer patients. October 9 - Mystery Class-Elmira Township Hall just outside Gaylord. Region Two members will receive emails about these events with registration information. June meeting - June 26th - White Cloud Senior Center - Montague, MI - Details later August meeting in the Alma area October meeting will be at the Sugar Springs Community Building - Gladwin/Sugar Springs - Charity Sew for Veteran’s quilts. Cathy will be teaching us how to make a cell phone bag. Kits are $5. You will
also need to bring your
sewing machine, about 1/4 yd fabric and thread to match.
Directions: Take I-96 to Portland. Exit 77 (I-96 Br./Grand Rapids Ave).
Turn right onto E Grand River Ave./I-96 Br. Turn left onto Maple St. 120 Maple
St. is on the right. Region Five February 27th - Hosted by the Genesee Star Quilters Guild 9-10:30AM Apple Tree Quilts Shop - 5269 N. McKinley Rd., Flushing, MI - Coffee
and refreshments by Genesee Star Quilters.
Directions:
Exit I-75 North at Exit #122 Pierson Rd. Turn left onto Pierson Rd.
Travel west 2.9 miles on Pierson. Turn right onto Flushing Rd./Main St.
Travel 1.6 miles to McKinley Rd. (You will pass the Flushing United Methodist
church on the right about two blocks before McKinley Rd.) Turn right
(north) on McKinley Rd. Apple Tree Quilt Shop is about 1.3 miles on the left. 10:45AM - 1PM - Flushing United Methodist Church - 413 E. Main St., Flushing, MI

Directions to the Church: Use
the same directions as above except that the church is two blocks before
McKinley Rd. on the corner of Main Street and Hazelton. Upcoming meeting will be a full-day workshop in the summer with Kay Nickols and her One Fabric Wonder Quilts. More information on date, time and location coming soon.
