ABOUT M.Q.N.In the fall of 1989, a group of women met and agreed to the concept of a state organization devoted to quilting. This steering committee was chaired by Jane Duvall. Through the committee's efforts, Michigan Quilt Network was born. The first annual meeting conference was held in Gaylord in the fall of 1990. There were five regions formed within the state, with representatives from each region elected to the board of directors. Among the many committees we have, is an educational committee. Members have made quilt blocks that have educational themes, signing blocks for teaching sign language, historical themes, farm life, and many more. These blocks are available , on loan, to members and non-members alike. MQN also donates volunteer time and money to various quilt-related causes around the state, including museums.
